Why circular formwork is indispensable
Our solutions are designed precisely for this purpose: they are efficient, robust and versatile, suitable for a wide range of radii and heights.
Benefits at a glance
- Precise geometry
Circular formwork ensures uniform radii and smooth concrete surfaces – a must for exposed concrete or geometrically complex components.
- High load capacity
Robust components and secure connection systems ensure that the formwork pressure is absorbed in a controlled manner – even at great heights and with varying radii.
- Flexible customisation
Whether with a small or large radius, single-sided or mutually supported: these systems allow for a wide range of applications without the need for complicated bespoke solutions.
Areas of application
- Columns & supports
- Curved walls
- Silo Construction & Sewage Treatment Works
- Architectural projects featuring complex curves
- Industrial and infrastructure projects

FAQ – Circular formwork
Circular formwork is used to shape curved concrete elements – round columns and pillars, piers, curved walls, silos, tanks or architecturally curved exposed concrete surfaces. It gives the concrete exactly the desired radius and withstands the high pressure exerted by fresh concrete. They are used in building construction, civil engineering and hydraulic engineering, as well as in challenging architectural projects. At CETRAC, you can find circular formwork – tested, second-hand and new – at up to 70% less than new products.
That depends on the system. Steel and plastic formwork systems are designed for multiple uses and are therefore clearly reusable; simple cardboard or disposable formwork tubes for circular columns, on the other hand, are intended for single use. For recurring projects, reusable materials quickly pay for themselves – especially when bought second-hand. Our ‘Buy vs Rent’ calculator will show you whether buying or renting makes financial sense in your case.
The radius is determined by the formwork system: many steel formwork systems can be adjusted continuously to different radii using spindles or joints, whilst other elements are manufactured for fixed diameters. For very small or unusual radii, flexible support or composite solutions are used. Tell us your diameter and the desired concrete finish – we’ll put together the right system for you.
Yes. System formwork and plastic circular formwork in particular produce very smooth, uniform surfaces and are therefore well suited to exposed concrete. The key factors are an undamaged formwork skin, clean joints and the correct release agent. When exposed concrete is required, we pay particular attention to the condition of the formwork skin when using second-hand materials and replace it with a new one if necessary.
No – system formwork is self-contained and cannot be combined with products from other manufacturers at will. Components, anchors and connectors are designed to fit within their own respective systems. It is therefore important to stick to the same system when purchasing additional items to supplement your existing stock. We can advise you on compatibility and help you expand your existing system in a targeted manner – whether it’s wall formwork, floor formwork or circular formwork.
Our EasyFlow scaffolding area calculator is designed for scaffolding areas; we plan circular formwork separately on a project-by-project basis. Simply send us the diameter, height and quantity – you’ll receive your personalised quote within 24 hours.
