FAQs - scaffolding components and accessories
For a classic facade scaffold you generally need vertical frames or standards, ledgers, diagonal braces, decking, railings, toe boards and base jacks for height adjustment. Depending on the building shape and load class, brackets, wall anchors or corner assemblies are added. You will find the right material bundled on our facade scaffold page.
Many of our components are cross-system compatible – for example with Layher, Alfix, Plettac or MJ. What matters are matching connection dimensions and tube diameters; with the right scaffolding couplers, different systems can be safely connected. If you are unsure which parts fit your system, we are happy to advise you.
Yes. All scaffolding components on offer are tested and comply with the relevant standards – in particular EN 12811 and the requirements of European prevention bodies. We manually check every component for function and wear before sale. You can read what to look out for during assembly and inspection in our guide Scaffolding safety: permits, obligations & standards.
Yes, all parts are available both in large quantities and individually – ideal for repairs, additions or replacing damaged components. Even older or discontinued components are usually still available from our stock. Our guide on Layher spare parts gives you an overview of compatible spare parts.
Yes – used scaffolding components are our speciality. We only offer inspected used parts and permanently keep parts, systems and spare parts in stock. Compared to new material you save up to 70%. You can find complete inspected scaffolds in our Buy Scaffolding overview.
Essential for safe operation are wall anchors for anchoring, railings and toe boards as side protection, couplers for stable connections, protective nets or tarpaulins, and safe access such as ladders or stair towers. Only this combination makes a scaffold standard-compliant and safe to work on.
Not necessarily. Whether you need protective nets or tarpaulins depends on the application: in public spaces, for roof work or where falling material poses a risk, they are usually mandatory. They protect passers-by and material and also serve as weather protection. Our safety guide explains which securing obligations apply.
Our standard couplers fit the tube diameter of 48.3 mm commonly used in scaffolding. For different diameters or special connections, we also stock special and reducing couplers. You will find the right version for your system under scaffolding couplers.
