Circular formwork shapes curved concrete components – round piers and columns, pillars, curved walls, silos, tanks or architecturally curved fair-faced concrete surfaces. It gives the concrete exactly the desired radius and withstands the high fresh-concrete pressure. It is used in building construction, civil and hydraulic engineering as well as in demanding architectural projects. That depends on the system. Steel and plastic system formwork is designed for many uses and is clearly reusable; simple cardboard or single-use forming tubes for round columns, on the other hand, are intended for one-time use. The radius is determined by the formwork system: many steel system formworks can be adjusted continuously to different radii via spindles or hinges, while other elements are made for fixed diameters. For very small or unusual radii, flexible beam or composite solutions are used. Tell us your diameter and the desired concrete surface – we will put together the right system for you.
Yes. System and plastic circular formwork in particular delivers very smooth, even surfaces and is therefore well suited to fair-faced concrete. What matters are an intact formwork facing, clean joints and the right release agent. Where fair-faced concrete is required, we pay particular attention to the condition of the facing on second-hand material and replace it with a new one if necessary.
No – system formwork is self-contained and cannot be freely combined with other manufacturers. Elements, anchors and connecting parts each fit within their own system. When adding to existing stock, staying within the system is therefore important. We advise you on compatibility and add to your existing system in a targeted way – whether wall formwork, slab formwork or circular formwork.
