That depends on how often you shutter. For construction companies in regular operation, buying almost always pays off - second-hand material often amortises after just a few uses, and you build up your own assets with real resale value. For one-off or very short projects, hiring can be the more flexible choice.

You need wall formwork wherever vertical concrete structures are built: load-bearing and non-load-bearing walls, columns, piers, shafts, lift cores or basement exterior walls. The formwork gives the fresh concrete its shape and absorbs the high fresh-concrete pressure until the component has cured.
Depending on the project, frame formwork is used for straight surfaces or beam formwork for special shapes. You will find an overview of our complete range in the formwork overview.
Yes - and that is exactly what makes it so economical. High-quality frame formwork can be used several hundred times with good care. Decisive for service life are the frame material (steel is more robust than aluminium) and the condition of the formwork facing, which as a wearing part is simply replaced when needed.
Second-hand systems are therefore an attractive option: you save considerably compared with new material, without compromising on function. Whether buying or hiring is more worthwhile for you depends mainly on how often you use it.
Frame formwork consists of prefabricated steel or aluminium frames with the formwork facing already integrated. It is quick to assemble, robust and ideal for straight, recurring wall surfaces - the first choice in classic building construction.
Beam formwork, on the other hand, is assembled individually from beams, walers and formwork facing. This makes it more flexible for special heights, fair-faced concrete and unusual geometries, but requires more planning and assembly effort. Rule of thumb: frames for speed and standard dimensions, beams for flexibility and demanding surfaces.

Yes. In many projects, straight walls meet curved structures - for example tanks, stairwells or curved facades. As long as the connection points and anchor grids are planned to match cleanly, circular formwork and wall formwork can be combined without problems.
It is important that the systems fit together. If you are unsure which components are compatible, we will be happy to help you choose.
As a rule, yes. Push-pull (alignment) props keep the formwork plumb and secure it against tipping, wind and one-sided concrete pressure during pouring. Especially with single-sided formwork or taller walls, they are indispensable for safety and dimensional accuracy.

Very important - the formwork facing is the contact surface with the concrete and largely determines the final surface. An intact, smooth facing ensures clean fair-faced concrete surfaces, while worn boards can leave imprints, pores or discolouration.
Since the facing is a wearing part, it can be re-faced or replaced without you having to replace the whole frame. For demanding fair-faced concrete surfaces, freshly faced formwork is worthwhile; for secondary components, second-hand material is often sufficient.
