Scaffold feet – also called base plates or base jacks – transfer loads reliably into the ground and compensate precisely for unevenness. They form the starting point of every scaffold structure and ensure that the system stands safely, stably and as planned. CETRAC supplies inspected and compatible scaffold feet for almost all surfaces and system families.

Why scaffold feet are essential

Safe scaffolding erection always starts at ground level.

High-quality scaffolding bases ensure:

  • Stable load transfer into load-bearing ground
  • Height adjustment on uneven surfaces
  • Stability of the entire structure
  • Precise alignment of the first layer of scaffolding
  • Adaptability to different scaffolding systems

Scaffold bases: Product and system variety

→ Simple footplates

For flat surfaces, indoor areas and lightweight structures.

→ Height-adjustable foot spindles

To compensate for differences in level and to adjust the height.

→ Heavy-duty foot spindles

For supporting structures or where higher load-bearing requirements apply.

→ Customised solutions

Depending on the surface (e.g. paving, compacted ground, indoor areas).

Scaffold feet: Instructions for use

Please take care on uneven ground:

Height-adjustable spindles are required here to create a level base.

Installation & Safety

There are some basic rules to follow when fitting scaffolding bases:

  • Check the subsoil for load-bearing capacity
  • Align the scaffolding feet correctly
  • Only use spindles within the permitted extension lengths
  • Distribute scaffolding loads evenly
  • Carry out regular visual inspections as construction progresses

All foot, head and standard spindles are in stock and available immediately:

FAQ – Scaffold feet

Scaffold feet – also known as base plates or base spindles – form the lowest connection between the vertical standards and the ground. They ensure a stable, level base and compensate for any unevenness.

For transferring the load into the ground and levelling the height of the first scaffold lift. Without base jacks, a scaffold cannot stand securely.

  • Base plates – for level and load-bearing surfaces
  • Foot spindles – height-adjustable for uneven surfaces
  • Heavy-duty spindles – for heavy loads and support structures
  • Special variants – for specific substrates

They are placed under the standards or frames, aligned precisely and – in the case of jacks – set to the required height. Find out more about erecting a scaffold properly.

Every system has a maximum extension length. If extended too far, stability and load class are reduced. Exact values vary depending on the system.
